Hawaiian’s Giving Box raises a record-breaking amount in it’s 10th year

23 Jan 2023

Hawaiian’s 10th year of Giving Box has come to a close and excitingly, it’s been a record-breaking year!

Hawaiian’s Giving Box raised more than 110,064 meals for Foodbank WA… surpassing last year’s previous record amount by more than 70,000 meals!

From snapping a photo with Santa, sipping a glass of bubbles, having gifts beautifully wrapped, or donating using the Giving Box Tap & Go points, our communities have joined together to give $52,325.

136 volunteers came together at Claremont Quarter to have wrap customers gift for the festive season, providing a cumulative total of 515 volunteering hours.

As for the food donations, our centres have once again shown how generous they can be gifting 3,005kg of food. The final tally stands at:

  • Claremont Quarter: 807kg
  • Park Centre: 477kg
  • Noranda: 457kg
  • The Mezz: 396kg
  • Forrestfield: 311kg
  • Melville: 298kg
  • Bassendean: 259kg

During the 10 years of the appeal, more than 281,000 meals have been raised for West Australians in need. This mammoth result has helped ensure that Foodbank WA can deliver critical services during the Christmas season, which is increasingly a difficult time for WA families going without.

Planning is already underway for this year’s Hawaiian Giving Box appeal. Stay tuned for an exciting new upgrade to our gold boxes!

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and spread the word to help make this possible.

Every Hawaiian neighbourhood shopping centre, big or small, is proud to be part of the local community.
