Hawaiian Celebrates the Success of the 2024 Hawaiian Giving Box Campaign
In 2024, Foodbank WA reported that more families than ever before reached out for food assistance as they continued to battle the cost-of-living crisis. This made it more important than ever to raise funds and donations for such a vital cause during the festive season.
We are thrilled to share the record-breaking results of our 2024 Hawaiian Giving Box campaign. Across Hawaiian’s shopping centres, and thanks to the generosity of our communities, an incredible $55,052 was raised for Foodbank WA. This contribution translates to providing more than 100,000 meals for West Australian families in need.
In addition to the monetary donations, an impressive 5,800 kilograms of non-perishable food items were gathered for Foodbank WA, marking an 86% increase from the previous year. We’d like to extend our gratitude to Yokine Primary School and Bassendean Primary School for their generous support towards the Giving Boxes located in their catchments.
With a significant increase in demand for its services this year, Foodbank WA assisted an average of 858 families a day through December. Thanks to the contributions from our communities, we were able to help meet this growing need.
Richard Kilbane, Chief Operating Officer of Hawaiian, expressed his pride in the community’s efforts:
“We are immensely proud to connect our communities to meaningful causes. The success of the Hawaiian Giving Box campaign is a testament to what can be accomplished through collective effort.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone involved — from the dedicated volunteers at our Claremont Quarter gift-wrapping station to those who donated to have a photo with Santa or contributed non-perishable goods to our Giving Boxes — each and every contribution is creating a positive impact on the lives of others. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity.”
