Due to the evolving nature of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the Federal Government’s recommendation against large public gatherings, the Melville Swapmeet run by Rotary Melville has been cancelled.
The health and safety of our customers, retailers and visitors to Hawaiian’s Melville is of the highest importance and we support Rotary Melville in this difficult decision.
Amid these challenges, Hawaiian’s Melville is pleased to report that the Rotary Spinner, which was placed in Centre to raise money for the Bushfire Appeal, helped the Rotary Club of Melville raise more than $12,000.
The money was donated to the Rotary Clubs of Batemans Bay (NSW) and Lakes Entrance (Victoria) to assist communities in these areas which were catastrophically impacted by the bushfires.
Hawaiian’s Melville look forward to welcoming the Rotary Melville Swapmeet back to our carpark on Sunday mornings when the current Coronavirus situation passes.
Rotary Melville will have a representative in the usual Swapmeet area from 10pm on 21 March to advise any traders of the cancellation.
We wish to thank our local community for supporting the Melville Swapmeet and we appreciate your understanding in this decision.
Please be assured that Hawaiian is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and following the advice of the Western Australian Department of Health to mitigate any risk to our customers, retailers and staff.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
