Hawaiian’s Melville is proud to announce it has partnered with Bicton Primary School in the Melville community for the Giving Box appeal, with teachers and students playing an active role to gather donations.
Participating schools are given the opportunity to win a number of prizes from Hawaiian. The two schools that collect the most kilograms of food across the entire appeal will be rewarded with cash prizes to use on programs or projects for their school.
Christmas can be a daunting season for disadvantaged families in Western Australia, who are unable to celebrate and take part in festive traditions because of personal hardship or difficult circumstances.
Donated items can include tinned food, tea, Christmas pudding, gift vouchers, toy cars, dolls and arts and craft supplies to help create a special Christmas for those struggling.
Hawaiian CEO Russell Gibbs said Hawaiian is proud to have the support from local schools who have the chance to make a difference in their local communities.
“Hawaiian’s Giving Box appeal will once again give back to the people who need it the most at Christmas time, with many children, young people and families struggling at this time of year,” Mr Gibbs said.
“We are proud to have 21 schools from across Perth join in with Hawaiian’s Giving Box appeal to make a big difference to the lives of Western Australians.
“The Giving Box appeal encourages the WA community to get involved and make a positive difference in the local community.”
