Chiu Chi Wen
Chair
Chiu Chi became Chair of Hawaiian in 2000 and holds several international Board positions. Starting his career with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, Chiu Chi has been a director of a Malaysian property group since 1979.
Chiu Chi initiated the company philosophy of “the unity of business and people”. Under Chiu Chi’s stewardship the company strives to reflect human values of which we can all be proud. As much as Hawaiian is a business, it is a collective of people that take a long term perspective around the growth of the communities in which we operate.
Hawaiian’s position in the property sector is been directly accredited to the atypical approach. Outside of Hawaiian, Chiu Chi has helped guide many educational organisations in Perth, Kuala Lumpur, Nepal, Thailand and Singapore.
Russell Gibbs
Director And Chief Executive Officer
Russell has been with Hawaiian since 1996 and at the helm since 2000. He is a member of the Wen Family Advisory Council which oversees the Wen Family’s Australian and Malaysian real estate operations.
Russell’s leadership style draws on his approachable nature and big picture vision, which has seen the company grow an extensive property portfolio, including shopping centres, offices, land and hospitality, and employ a team of over 110 people.
Today, the company is a leading West Australian business recognised for having a strong ethos and innovative approach.
The company’s strategy to connect people through places has seen Hawaiian properties become more than just structures, but spaces which encourage people to relax and reconnect with their family, friends and the community.
Russell is also Ex-Chairman of the West Coast Eagles and a non-executive director on the boards of the Satterley Property Group and the St Ives Group.
Damian Gordon
Executive Director
Damian has been with Hawaiian since 2002 and is responsible for Hawaiian’s portfolio of land developments. He is a member of the Wen Family Advisory Council which oversees the Wen Family’s Australian and Malaysian real estate operations.
Damian held the position of Hawaiian’s Chief Financial Officer from 2002 to 2017 and has been a member of the Hawaiian board since 2008.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Senior Fellow of Finsia, a Fellow of the AICD and in 2013, he completed INSEAD’s inaugural LEAP (Leadership Excellence through Awareness and Practice) Program.
Damian is a member of Council and the Finance Committee of Curtin University, a former Director of Youth Focus and a former Director and Chair of the Finance Committee of Amana Living.
Dusan Mills
Non-Executive Director
Dusan joined the Hawaiian board in 2000, bringing with him a valued and diverse set of expertise and experience.
He has a 40 year international background in public and private property development, investment practices, economic development, corporate strategy and organisational behaviour. His work in many countries has spanned the creation and operation of most commercial, recreational and residential property types and includes creation of national parks and new cities. These were accomplished either as Principal or Lead Advisor to prominent multinational investment entities and Governments.
Dusan’s notable appointments include Global Head of Development/ CEO Europe and Asia supervising US 100 Billion in development commitments for an investment arm of the Dubai Government.
Richard Kilbane
Chief Operating Officer
Richard leads the management and strategic direction of Hawaiian’s vast portfolio of retail, office and hospitality assets, utilising his extensive experience in property development and management.
In 2021, after 16 years with the company and from the position of General Manager Office Buildings for Hawaiian, Richard became Hawaiian’s Chief Operating Officer and has steered our company’s mandate to make practical and positive impacts on the lives of others. He believes this genuine approach to business also positively impacts the Hawaiian team; which was evidenced in 2023 when Hawaiian celebrated its 30th birthday with the current team and three decades of Hawaiian alumni.
Richard is the President of the WA Division of the Property Council of Australia. A graduate of the Harvard Business School of General Management and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Richard holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and sits on the Board of St. Barts.
When Richard’s not strategising Hawaiian’s next big thing, he’s behind the BBQ cooking up a delicious feast for family and friends–and is often chef at our Hawaiian team events, where no one goes hungry!
Luke Burns
Chief Financial Officer
Luke is the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all financial functions at Hawaiian. His role has a unique focus to balance Hawaiian’s capital investment and long-term financial outcomes of the group.
Luke joined Hawaiian in 2022 and was immediately impressed by Hawaiian’s determination to make a positive impact in the neighbourhoods in which it operates. This drive permeates throughout the Hawaiian team culture and this was most notable in 2023 when the company celebrated 30 years. This milestone highlighting the passion and connections that Hawaiian has fostered within its team and partners over the years.
Luke is excited by the continued focus on the development of the business with a highly respected team, strong assets and an ongoing focus, involvement, and commitment to create a positive impact.
Luke has more than 20 years’ financial experience in the energy, infrastructure, and agricultural industries. A fellow of CPA Australia, Luke also holds an MBA from Deakin University.
Sandra Holloway
General Manager Marketing
Sandra joined Hawaiian in 2020 and was appointed General Manager – Marketing in 2021. With a diverse background spanning start-ups, established businesses, traditional media, social media, and not-for-profit sectors, Sandra brings a unique and broad skill set to Hawaiian.
Her expertise lies in developing and delivering strategic initiatives, evidenced by her track record of cultivating and executing campaigns and activations at some of Australia’s most significant events. In 2014, Sandra orchestrated a pioneering international partnership with New York-based digital agency Breakfast, introducing its social media activation company Luster (formerly known as Instaprint) to Australia.
Sandra kickstarted her marketing journey at Nova 93.7, where she spent 12 years honing her skills within the radio station’s dynamic environment. Alongside her professional endeavors, Sandra is committed to furthering her education, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws to complement her Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies.
With her blend of hands-on experience, strategic acumen, and ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth, Sandra is poised to drive innovative marketing initiatives and contribute to Hawaiian’s continued success in the marketplace.
Stuart Seaton
General Manager, Capital Projects
Stuart directs and manages the delivery of Hawaiian’s CAPEX projects and oversees Hawaiian’s Project and Portfolio Operations teams. Across Hawaiian’s portfolio of retail, office and hospitality assets, Stuart executes pipeline projects to create the best offerings for the communities in which we operate. A key part of his role, which was newly created in 2022 when Stuart joined Hawaiian, is to identify new development opportunities for the business.
What makes Hawaiian uniquely different, according to Stuart, is our genuine, authentic investment in our team. He believes Hawaiian’s staff retreats, which positively stretch the team, result in strong bonds and a shared desire to fulfil Hawaiian’s big goals and see communities thrive.
With more than 20 years’ property development experience in the United Kingdom and WA, Stuart was senior development manager of the $880 million redevelopment of Karrinyup shopping centre, prior to joining Hawaiian. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Science from Napier University, Edinburgh, and is a member of the Property Council of Australia.
Mad about sports; mainly golf, football (aka soccer!) and a keen runner, Stuart loves to travel and visit family in his homeland of Scotland.
Heidi Rodrigo
General Manager Human Resources
Heidi joined Hawaiian in 2015 bringing with her extensive experience in HR strategy, planning and recruitment.
Heidi began her career in 2006 and has spent many years working within government around Australia, including the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Department of Transport and Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
Heidi is an HR Generalist and has a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Management and PR from Curtin University.
Scott Greenwood
General Manager Shopping Centres
Scott joined Hawaiian in 2018 and became General Manager Shopping Centres in 2019; leading the company’s mission to connect neighbourhood communities through Hawaiian’s centres.
He is most proud of seeing Hawaiian’s centres become the catalyst for social connection and belonging in our communities. A Hawaiian shopping centre, Scott says, is the heart of the neighbourhood and welcoming spaces for everyone.
Scott was involved in conceiving, planning, negotiating and delivering the Forrestfield Library project at Hawaiian’s Forrestfield; a Western Australian first in connecting a local municipality through retail, delivering a prized asset and legacy for the community. He leads Hawaiian in the acquisition of new neighbourhood centres, always with a goal to ignite social connections.
Scott is passionate about retail trends and listening to what individual communities want from their local centre. He holds a Bachelor of Business, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is a licensed Real Estate Agent and a member of the PCA Retail Committee, Western Australia.
Always on the go, in Scott’s downtime he likes to workout at the gym or play soccer with mates.
