As the Perth Wildcats head into their 33rd consecutive Championshsip NBL Grand Final series, Hawaiian wishes them the best of luck for the weeks ahead!
Behind Hawaiian is over 400 passionate Wildcats fans and community members that joined the Perth Wildcats on the court this summer for an opportunity to shoot hoops against their favourite Wildcats.
Held at Hawaiian’s Forrestfield and Hawaiian’s Noranda, the two Community Fan Days brought together families and friends alike, with under-18s entering the court competition on a custom-made Wildcats basketball half court for the chance to win tickets to a Wildcats home game.
Wildcats fans loved the chance to have their fan memorabilia signed by captain Damian Martin and other key players, snap selfies in a photo booth and meet the infamous Wilbur Wildcat. Noranda locals also had a special chance to meet Perth Lynx stars Shyla Heal and Lauren Mansfield.
The two events are part of Hawaiian’s continuing partnership with the Perth Wildcats, allowing more schools and community groups to participate in the popular Halftime with Hawaiian basketball games - a six-on six match during Perth Wildcats’ home games at RAC Arena. Schools and community groups can also apply to win a skills clinic with two Perth Wildcats players.
“It is important to us that young people in WA have opportunities to engage with their sporting heroes, get inspired by the greats and learn new skills in a supportive and fun environment,” said Hawaiian Director and CEO Russell Gibbs.
Perth Wildcats CEO Troy Georgiu said: “The Perth Wildcats place a great importance on aligning with partners that share common values and goals. We place great importance on community and it is at the heart of both organisations.”
Hawaiian’s partnership with the Perth Wildcats forms part of its community program, which aims to create positive life experiences for the local communities in which the company operates.
