The 15 local youths, including high school students, aged from 13 to 20 have been working with Ian at the Claremont Showgrounds to create a visual interpretation of the Claremont lifestyle.
Working with brush and paint on steel sheets, the students have worked over 6 weeks to realise the concept, which was developed by Ian.
The concept, called 'Polaroids and Coffee', represents a Claremont resident looking at photos in a cafe. Each polaroid is a 'window' onto an aspect of the Claremont lifestyle.
The young artists were given the job of creating the 'view' that they would like to see in their window.
"The final product will be almost a scrapbook of Claremont life," Ian said.
Sponsored by Hawaiian and Multiplex, developers of the Claremont Quarter, the project was also supported by the Royal Agricultural Society, who donated work space for the artists, and the Town of Claremont, who assisted in bringing the project together. |
