Perth Fashion Festival will continue to call Carillon City home, recently moving into its brand new headquarters in the heart of the CBD.
The move continues Perth Fashion Festival’s 10-year relationship with Hawaiian, Carillon City’s joint owner (along with Brookfield).
The Perth Fashion Festival team of 21 staff moved into the large and bright new offices on Level 9 of the Carillon City Office Tower earlier this month after a new three year lease deal was signed.
The move will help them deliver on their promise to make 2010 Perth Fashion Festival bigger and more dynamic.
Perth Fashion Festival Director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said she had been thrilled to witness the Festival grow exponentially each year.
“As a result of the growth and success of the Festival, a larger office space was needed to enable the team’s hard work, creativity and passion,” Ms Harvey-Hanrahan said.
“Carillon City is the perfect location for Perth Fashion Festival, being in the heart of the city, so close to Fashion Central and now the home for “The Carton’s” student designers.”
The 2009 Perth Fashion Festival had over 33,000 attendees and its army of volunteers grew by 219%.
This year the number of volunteers is expected to grow once again by 30%.
While this year Carillon City is a proud sponsor of the Festival, two of Hawaiian’s other retail assets The Colonnade and Claremont Quarter have also been involved in the Festival.
In addition, Hawaiian’s General Manager of Marketing & PR is a member of the Festival’s Advisory Board. Kate O’Hara said the partnership with Perth Fashion Festival had been beneficial for the ongoing development of Hawaiian’s retail portfolio and business profile.
“We have a lot of faith in Perth Fashion Festival, testament to Mariella’s creative vision and keen understanding of the WA fashion industry,” Ms O’Hara said.
This year Carillon City’s commitment to Perth Fashion Festival includes the proud sponsorship of the Student Runway event.
The Student Runway event features a celebration of emerging design talent, with three of the student designers to debut in Student Runway having worked for the past five months from a design space in Carillon City entitled “The Carton”.
As well as Hawaiian’s commitment to support young people in Western Australia, Carillon City has also launched its inaugural Every Body Counts campaign for this year’s Perth Fashion Festival.
The campaign aims to encourage diversity in the Australian fashion industry and will see 15 real sized women selected to appear on the runway with Every Body Counts ambassador Natalie Wakeling, Australia’s most famous real size model.
