Carillon City announces Every Body Counts campaign
underline

Carillon City is thrilled that its Every Body Counts campaign has been embraced by the Perth community.

Every Body Counts is an initiative of Carillon City and aims to recognise and celebrate real women.

The initiative was announced at the official launch of Perth Fashion Festival last month.

Leading Australian plus size model Natalie Wakeling, of BGM Models, is the face of the Every Body Counts campaign.

Perth Fashion Festival Director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said Every Body Counts was a positive step for the WA fashion industry.

“It is so important for women to have a positive body image, strong self esteem and healthy lifestyle,” Ms Harvey-Hanrahan said.

“I am proud that Carillon City is supporting diversity in the fashion industry.”

Embracing recommendations by Kate Ellis, Federal Minister for Youth, the campaign promotes positive body image by encouraging women of all shapes and sizes to enter a modelling competition.

Applications for the modelling competition have now opened and 15 finalists will be announced on 19 August.

The finalists will attend a modelling workshop, professional photo shoot and appear on the runway to showcase Carillon City fashion at Perth Fashion Festival.

One lucky finalist will receive a styling session, a $1000 Carillon City voucher and a pair of jeans valued at $250 from Natalie’s Embody clothing range.

In addition to the modelling experience, finalists will win shopping vouchers and tickets to a Perth Fashion Festival event.

Russell Gibbs, Chief Executive Officer of Hawaiian (joint owner of Carillon City with Brookfield), said Hawaiian was proud to support Perth Fashion Festival for the tenth year running.

“The Festival has a firm place on the WA fashion calendar and certainly enriches the cultural environment of our city,” Mr Gibbs said.

The Every Body Counts modelling competition is open to WA women of all shapes and sizes aged 18 or older. They must not already be represented by a modelling agency.

Entries opened on 1 August 2010 and close on 13 August. To enter, visit www.carilloncity.com.au or click here.

Carillon City, located in Perth’s CBD, is a major retail destination with a wide range of fashion, jewellery and food retailers.
