Hawaiian's vision to transform The Colonnade into an exciting mixed-use facility is nearing fruition, with international health club and gym operator, Fitness First, confirmed to occupy the 2,000 m2 gym on the ground floor.

Fitness First has now signed a 15 year lease with Hawaiian and the gym is set to be fully operating in the property by mid January 2008.

David Allan, Development Director of Fitness First is thrilled to have secured the Colonnade site. "The Colonnade presents an ideal opportunity for us to provide the Fitness First experience direct to Subiaco residents and workers who before now have had to travel to suburbs further afield."

"The new Fitness First at The Colonnade will be a state of the art facility offering the latest in equipment and lifestyle enhancing programmes and it will be the first Platinum Fitness First in Western Australia," Mr Allan added.

The inclusion of Fitness First, one of world's largest health clubs and gym operators, will greatly improve the vibrancy of The Colonnade with gym patrons having access to the gym's facilities from early mornings till evenings 7 days a week.

Newmont Mining, one of the world's largest gold producers, is now operating from Level 2 of the building and is set to occupy the balance of the remaining floors during September 2007.

A strategic approach in identifying the needs of the local Subiaco market has allowed Hawaiian to confidently proceed with the transformation of the outdated centre to a cosmopolitan facility offering the best in commercial office space, recreational amenities and retail shopping.

"Since purchasing The Colonnade in November 2005, we have been investigating ways to improve the vibrancy of this Subiaco landmark and to position the asset to best meet the needs of the Subiaco market," stated Hawaiian's General Manager of Investments, Evan Briers.

"We are confident that the combination of our quality retail tenants Lisa Ho, More!, Mollini, Sportsgirl, Saba, Merge, Xile and Laced Up, along with Fitness First and Newmont's superior corporate tenancy achieves that goal," Mr Briers said.
