Hawaiian is proud to support the Jewel of the West Cocktail Breakfast at the historic St George’s Cathedral on St Georges Terrace on Friday 30th November, 2007.
Jewel of the West is set to be a very special event that will allow guest to appreciate the stunning surrounds of the St George’s Cathedral as they indulge in a sumptuous Cocktail Breakfast.
Jewel of the West aims to raise funds to support the restoration of the heritage listed St George’s Cathedral, in particular the magnificent stained glass windows that feature in the building.
The Event will include an auction of premium items to help raise funds to support the cause.
One of the auction items will include an exclusively designed necklace from award-winning jeweller, Susan Blennerhassett of Blennerhassett Fine Jewellers.
This stunning yellow gold necklace features 2 striking white gold pendants with a centrepiece pave set with 1.10ct of brilliant cut diamonds.
In her creation of the necklace, Susan drew her inspiration from the Cathedral as she incorporated patterns from the hand crafted timbers and the stained glass windows into the design.
“In designing this particular piece, I wanted to convey the ethereal, serene beauty of the Cathedral rather then creating something that had strong religious connotations,” said Susan.
“I wanted to create a timeless, elegant piece that is ultimately wearable for anyone, regardless of their religious beliefs,” she added.
A fashion show featuring jewellery from Blennerhassett Fine Jewellers will take place prior to the auction, allowing guests to get a close-up view of the exclusively designed necklace and appreciate a range of other pieces from Susan’s collection.
The St George’s Cathedral necklace will be on display at the Blennerhassett Fine Jewellers store at Claremont Arcade store in the lead up to the event.
