The Park Centre is pleased to partner with the Town of Victoria Park and the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts in this year’s Victoria Park Art Awards.
In its 14 year history, the annual Awards event has continued to receive an overwhelming response from the community and this year for the first time, an additional category was added to the prize pool - the Indigenous Art Award Category.
The official Opening Night and Awards presentation was held on Wednesday 19 August at The Park Centre shopping centre.
Judy Rodgers of Alexander Heights was awarded the ‘Sony Centre First Prize Any Medium’ category for a beautiful diptych portrait drawing of her son. Judges were unanimous in their decision and commended Judy for her work which ‘demonstrates a masterly use of material and technique’.
Judy was also awarded the 2-Dimensional Award for her work.
Artwork from the exhibition is being showcased at The Park Centre from Wednesday 19 August – Saturday 29 August, where art pieces will also be available for purchase. During this time artists will be conducting art demonstrations in-centre between 11am-
2pm.
