Hawaiian Ride for Youth
underline

Coming to an exciting finish earlier this month, the 2009 Hawaiian Ride for Youth was once again an outstanding success.

Held annually during March/April each year, The Hawaiian Ride for Youth is held over 5 days and travels from Albany to Fremantle covering approximately 700km. Throughout the course of their journey, the riders visit the regional towns of Albany, Denmark, Walpole, Pemberton, Margaret River, Busselton and Bunbury raising awareness for the cause.

The Ride began in 2003 when a small group of social bike riders from the Perth business community decided to combine their resources and raise funds for Youth Focus and assist in the prevention of depression, self-harm and youth-suicide.

The prime objectives of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth are:
  • to raise funds for Youth Focus
  • to raise awarenessof the issues concerning depression,self-harm, and youth suicide.
  • to raise awareness of the services provided by Youth Focus.

Since its inception, the Hawaiian Ride for Youth has grown steadily each year, and this year the Ride took out a National Award for Excellence in Fundraising in the Special Events category from the Fundraising Institute of Australia.

Final funds raised are still yet to be confirmed for this year's Ride.
