Hawaiian has added a music award to its growing list of achievements.

Hawaiian’s ‘Big Kahuna’ band took out the major prize at the recent Boardroom Blitz, an inaugural corporate rock charity event which aims to raise funds for Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

The Big Kahuna was made up of 10 Hawaiian staff members who lent their talents to compete at Challenge Stadium alongside teams from iinet, JWH Group, AXIS, City of Belmont, Land Band, Kosmic, and Perth Home Care Services.

The Big Kahuna was awarded the ‘Panel Pick’ prize after impressing judges with its rendition of Johnny Cash’s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’, the classic Marc Cohn track ‘Walking in Memphis’, as well as all-time Dragon favourite ‘April Sun in Cuba’.

In true rock royalty style, the Big Kahuna band was cheered on by loyal fans in the form of fellow Hawaiian staff members who came along on the night to show their support. Funds from the Boardroom Blitz will go towards funding a state-of-the-art operating microscope for the Princess Margaret Hospital.
