A Hawaiian outback adventure
underline

From the 11th - 17th August, the boys roughed it in the red dirt along with participants in 17 other four wheel drives - all to raise funds for a very good cause.

Evan and Hadley participated as representatives of Cystic Fibrosis WA, a fundraising charity aimed at assisting families with children suffering from Cystic Fibrosis and funding ongoing research into the disease.

All 18 four wheel drives carried the Hawaiian logo and Evan and Hadley were joined by other adventure-seeking participants including Chris Pye from Quest (our partner in Eco Structures) and Darren Schmidtke, CEO of Cystic Fibrosis.

The Variety Club team spent two nights at the new Karijini Eco Retreat, in the middle of Karijini National Park.

We hear that the Retreat was a bit of a highlight in the accommodation stakes, with the rest of the tour living fairly 'rough', pitching tents under wide open skies amidst the rich red earth.

"We had a fantastic experience out in the bush - there was a few hairy moments crossing full river beds and driving up the "widow maker", but overall the trip was really worthwhile and what a great way to raise money for a really worthwhile charity!" enthused Evan.

Evan and Hadley's efforts have raised $20,000, which includes a substantial contribution from Hawaiian as well as the Variety Club. We congratulate them both on their outstanding efforts and we look forward to their next big adventure!
