Hawaiian is committed to practicing Corporate Social Responsibility in all of its activities including its sponsorship of various community and Arts organisations as well as in the management of its asset portfolio. Hawaiian's recent developments encompass 'green' features which offer tenants a safe and comfortable space to reside.
The refurbishment of 50 Pitt Street, Sydney, has seen the property become the first existing commercial building in New South Wales to achieve a 4 Star Green Star office design rating, awarded by the Green Building Council Australia.
In addition, Hawaiian's development with joint venture partner Brookfield Multiplex of the nine-storey office tower 235 St George's Terrace in Perth's CBD, is WA's first commercial office tower to achieve a 5 Star Green Star office design rating.
Hawaiian's general operation principles are also reviewed regularly, with the group continually looking to improve and implement standards that support recycling, improved waste management and low carbon power provisions. The London House building at 216 St Georges Terrace has now committed to sourcing 75% of its energy supply from Synergy's natural power sourced from wind farms around the State.
